The Ahti 9612 is called the Kaira which translates into a landscape in Lapland. The blade is a shorter style of used used in many of the leuku's, the big knives. The knife is used in outdoor activities but is also a very good skinning style knife with the shorter blade length and sweep of the blade at the tip end.
Blade is carbon steel. The handle is curly birch stained dark brown with a brass bolster. The handle has a finger guard indentation at the front for those users who like a little safety design in the handle. Sheath is dark brown vegetable tanned leather with Ahti's eagle stamped into the sheath.
